I heard from my friend that in the year 2028 a astride is coming in the path of our planet. RV prepared ?

Is it possible for us to make a mega structure like football ground 2 or 3 independently (colony like structure for breading purposes) in the space, were we could accommodate different intellectual people, number of scientist and astronomies, to save human race. After astride collides in earth? Description of the field should be like: -Flat surface, Lab, maximum number of sample of plants and living creature, missile, soil, drinking water in a such a way to recycle all source of energy and shielded with Big and strong thick glass spherically covered to protect and to maneuver our possession like starships provided with fuel as much is possible. Is human race will survey this? What steps have been taken so far?

I know that I will not alive so long! But what happen to us???

I believe you will answer my question.Thank you

Yawn. I can knock the asteriod off with nukes. Why don't you go and leave all your valuable possession behind for the human race.
Reply:You might need to find a friend with better sources of information. Scans of images with just that question of asteroids in mind are not showing anything like that will be happening.

It is an interesting question for Yahoo but don't let friends with misinformation care you.
Reply:Hopefully, this astride from outer space will hit your friend in the head and he will learn a thing or two about astrides!
Reply:we will go the way of the dino's
Reply:The Earth will get hit by as ASTEROID (correct spelling) at some point in the future - that is certain. It will be a major disaster for anyone around at the time. There's nothing which can be done. Space is a dangerous place.

However, scare stories about asteroids in our lifetime are very fashionable right now, and no-one should listen to any of them.
Reply:I think your friend needs to send his Christel ball in for calibration.
Reply:No to all of the things you ask. No Asteroid will hit in 2028 and even if one was on the way, no to all the other things you said.

Before additional observations proved that asteroid 99942 Apophis would miss Earth, it was though it had a good chance of hitting in 2029. But there never was any predicted impact in 2028. Anyway, Apophis is too small to wipe out live on Earth. If it hit, it would have an effect about the same as seven Krakatoa eruptions. Bad for the people withing a hundred miles of so of the impact, and possibly causing strange weather for a few years from all the dust thrown up, but definitely nothing that would require evacuating the planet or anything like that.
Reply:Well i will be in my 50's during that time im sure our planet will have some defense for something like that or as with anything else just hope it just passess by like so many others have. Im sure you will be around too.
Reply:It won't hit us then. It'll pass by us no matter what but if it gets too close to earth's gravity it will wobble of course just enough so that when it comes back from around the sun it might hit us then.

Get your facts straight before you freak out.
Reply:Oh, your friend told you. Well that makes it real then doesn't it?

The answer to your question has two parts.

1. Start thinking for yourself instead of believing that everything you hear from a 'friend' is true. Do some research into the subject before posting some ******** thing about saving the human race before it's too late. It's just as easy to go to NASA's websites to find scientific information as it is to come to yahooanswers and hype the end of the world.

2. NASA tracks all Near Earth Orbit asteroids. The orbital paths of these are calculated to a high degree including their approach distances to Earth. There are NONE which are going to collide with Earth in 2028. From your spelling, you seem like a young person so I will provide a website for you. You can have your parents help you.

You seem to be a smart person. Stop listening to your friends. Get your information from science websites or books. Avoid websites that are presenting disinformation about the end of the world- they are all fake. Apply your mind towards other projects. Once you learn to seperate fact from fiction, you can let go of your fears and get on with living a constructive life.

Why do people take the time to post crap like this and then leave it up for a vote???
Reply:I am going to assume that your horrible spelling and grammar is due to the fact that English is not your first language, and let it slide. A giant asteroid is not going to hit Earth anytime soon. And if it does, there is really nothing we can do about it. If it is powerful enough to destroy mankind, it will either be so because it completely destroys the Earth or because it blocks out the sun and all life perishes. In either case there is nothing we can do to stay alive.
Reply:I don't think I will alive then, either. And, after we are gone, it will not matter to you or to me. To sort of answer your question...there have already been experiments with biospheres and the like. They are still ongoing. Will this save the world? I doubt it. Humans like to think that because we are the most intellectually advanced life forms on this planet that we are somehow immune to extinction. We are not.
Reply:Yes, I have got the RV prepared. Plenty of Slim Jims and Gatorade!
Reply:Astride?..RV?? What on earth are you wittering about???

Lets just assume that you wont be on the intellectual list eh?
Reply:Are you talking about this?

Either way, we're safe. And even the 2071 impact is slim.
